The Cost of Medicine

In my opinion I think that everyone should be able to access the medication they need.  Insurance should be providing to people the money they need for neccesary medications.  I would make it a point that the person is making an effort to afford what they can, but a little help never hurts.  If someone cannot afford the medicine to stay alive then they should be allowed help to afford it.  It is wrong to have a medication to keep them alive only avalible only to people with higher incomes.  How would you feel to know that you could not be cured because you don't have the money to get the medicine that other people will get?
If my insurance denied payment for a drug I needed, I would talk to my doctor and see if there is a generic or cheaper brand of the same drug.  I would also appeal to the insurance company and see if my doctor could call the insurance company and explain how much I need the drug.  Another option is for me to go to a free clinic and see if the drug could be provided there.
