Bullying
In the article "Celementi saga overlooks human factor" by Leonard Pitts Jr., it talks about the very tragic story of a Rutgers student who got video taped by his roommate while being intimate with another man. It gives another scenario where a young woman was accidentally caught picking her nose on live television and then a short clip of it was sent around in an email. The article talks about how bullying is wrong and we all are human and make mistakes but that doesn't mean they should be publicized for everyone to laugh at. Just because it is easier now a days to share something with a large number of people very fast, doesn't mean it is okay to take advantage of that and share someone's private moment or small moment of vulnerability with the world. I do feel that I have been bullied before and it doesn't feel good. I am involved in a relationship with a guy who has orange hair. Personally, I don't feel that I am bullied for dating him but I do take a hit when other people make fun of him in front of me. I don't like standing by and listening to other kids tease him even though he brushes it off like it's nothing. I'll admit to joking around with him every once and a while but I know to not say anything too mean. I do know it does hurt him because he has told me before so when people say something to me like "Gingers don't have souls" I don't just brush it off like it's nothing. I feel that it is my responsibility to say something back and not just let it go.
